Solar Shades
Solar shades can play a vital role in saving you money on your Solar Savings Project if you have lots of windows or even a few small ones. One of the things to know is that the sun puts out Ultra Violet Light (just one part of the color pallette of sunlight). What is not commonly known is that UV light coming through a window directly or indirectly heats up the air inside your home. This can be a disadvantage when temperatures outside your home are high and tend to heat up the inside of your home while you are spending energy to cool it. But what about winter time when you have all those windows and could use some help in heating things up inside? Well that is when you roll them up and let the sunlight in. Using energy saving products like this can lower your energy bill and require less of an investment on your solar panels and other components. This can be substantial and another smart way to go.

In looking at this from the creative side of things, I can view working with solar shades as a form of light sculpting.
Utilizing the location and direction of the sun in relationship to our daily lives, I can visualize the amount, intensity and color of the light inside a space at various times of the day and year. Can you see this too? One could then stage the furniture, paintings/artwork, indoor lighting etc. and create the ambiance one wishes to experience. How about creating a cool look that in fact maintains a warm and comfortable space one wants? Or in reverse a warm color lighting effect with a cool temperature in the space, just the way you like it.?
Notice the fit on these windows and doors? Did you also notice the amount of light that comes into the room? That is important in terms of your preferences. You can also get ones that don't allow any light through or ones that are transparent letting most of the light through. Now aren't those good choices to have?
